I don’t care if Wes Anderson did it, it’s shit. I appreciate the aesthetic details that went into it, it was very colorful and each shot was pretty, but the rest of the elements didn’t hold true for me at all.

Totally agree. I was just talking to Kia about this. All (admittedly very beautiful) style, zero substance. I love me some WA, but Darjeeling was boring and narratively bankrupt.

I just have to disagree here. I don’t think it’s Anderson’s best or anything, but there is a LOT going on here. all the family dynamic stuff is layered upon layers of meaning. you may not like what it says, and it can be reductively dismissed as something kind of pat (daddy=logic/industry; mommy=spirituality/feelings), but don’t say it has zero substance.

Sorta. I think of her more as the Matthew Barney of pop stars, especially in light of her new video. So, hey, just got a letter from Citibank saying that they’ve decided to change my credit card APR to 29.99% in order to “continue to provide our customers access to credit”. Way to fuck the economy, dudes. The government gave you money so YOU CAN LOAN IT TO CONSUMERS TO BUY SHIT. And it is really, really good business practice to fuck the people who (a)still have jobs (b) are most likely to continue to borrow money.
Seriously, this is fucked. I have not missed payments or otherwise defaulted and my rate is being raised over 50%.
